6 Week Vet Appointment

Yesterday Scout and the pups had their 6 week vet appointment and we are pleased to say, all went very well.

The hardest part was getting all of the puppies actually into the office.  Luckily S was here to help with transport.  I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't been here to help.

Once in the office, the oooohs! and aaaahhhs! began as each of the staff came in to love on the puppies.

The visit began with measuring the weights of each of the puppies.  Archer continues to the the biggest at a bit over 10 pounds and Mabel is the smallest at about 7 1/2 pounds.

Worms are very common for puppies at this age, even if they haven't been outside yet.  So, a fecal sample was taken from one of the puppies (conveniently delivered near the vet tech's foot acutally) and there were no parasites found!

Yay!

Each puppy was given a dewormer and a vaccine for bordatella, distemper, measles, and parainfluenza.

Valor literally fell asleep on the table during her exam...Dr. Erin couldn't believe it.

She wasn't loving that puppy attention at all...you can tell.

Scout had her ears cleaned and nails trimmed and that was it.  Dr. Erin said that she hadn't seen a litter of puppies this happy and healthy in a long, long time.  We left the appointment feeling really good that everyone was healthy and growing well.

All of this medical information along with AKC registration information will go into their folders that will go home with them in a few weeks.
